3 Quick and Easy Recipes for a Party


Whether you're getting together to watch the game or celebrating a holiday of your own invention, you need to prepare for the get-together by planning the perfect menu. Here are a few ideas that you could put together quickly for your party.

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Buffalo chicken dip is a favorite for football parties. Get out your slow cooker and turn it to low. Add 16 ounces of cream cheese, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, 4 cups of shredded chicken, 6 ounces of blue cheese, and 1 bottle of your favorite buffalo sauce. Allow it to cook for 1-2 hours. You could also mix everything together and cook it in your oven for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Serve with bread, pita chips, or whatever you'd like.

Pork Empanadas

Cook pork in a slow cooker the day before. Shred the pork and put about 1/3 cup of the pork on uncooked tortillas. Add cheese, black beans, green chilies, and your other favorite toppings. Be careful not to fill the empanadas too full. Fold them in half and pinch the sides together. You can fold the edges into a pattern if you want. Then, bake the empanadas in the oven for 10 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. You should flip them half way through the cook time. Dip them in your favorite salsa or guacamole.

Pretzel Knots

Use your favorite bread dough recipe to create the dough for these pretzels. Then, you can add 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese. Form knots, rolls, or sticks with your dough. Before cooking them in the oven, you can place them in a boiling pot of 10 cups of hot water and 2/3 cup of baking soda for about 1 minute per side. Then, cook the pretzels in the oven for 12-14 minutes at 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Dip them in your favorite nacho cheese dip.
