After-School Snacks Your Children Will Love

There are a couple of things to consider the moment your children get home from school. First, they have been away from you all day, so they probably want to see you. Second, it has probably been a while since they last ate. What better way to let them know that you missed them and thought of them throughout the day than by preparing a snack they will love? Here are some creative ideas.

Ants on a Log

Cut 4-inch segments of celery and spread peanut butter or almond butter on each piece. Then, put a few raisins on top of the peanut or almond butter.

Fruit Kabobs

Cut your child's favorite fruits into bite-sized pieces. Strawberries, grapes, pineapple, and watermelon are all easy options. Instead of using sharp skewers, use Popsicle sticks and string the fruit onto them.

Sliced Apple Sandwiches

Take the core out of the middle of an apple. Then, cut the apple into slices. Spread your child's favorite nut butter onto one of the apple slices. Sprinkle some chocolate chips on top of that. Finally, place another apple slice on top.

Veggies and Hummus

Cut your child's favorite vegetables into slices. Carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers, and celery are easy options. Serve with a small dish of hummus for him or her to dip the vegetables into.
